SING SING Trailer: Colman Domingo Leads an Incarcerated Theatre Troupe in Heartwarming True Story

Colman Domingo in SING SING

Colman Domingo seems to be on a roll this year. Ahead of Oscars night and his Best Actor nom for Rustin, A24 has just released the official trailer for his touching new drama Sing Sing. Directed by Greg Kwedar with a script penned by Kwedar and Clint Bentley, it shines a light on the drama program at New York’s Sing Sing Correctional Facility. It follows the troupe that finds escape from the realities of incarceration through the creative and cathartic process of putting on a play.

Domingo stars as an inmate and leader of the troupe who is seeking parole while trying to lead rehearsals for the new play. The cast also includes Oscar nominee Paul Raci (Sound of Metal) and formerly incarcerated actors who were part of the theatre troupe themselves. The film had its world premiere at TIFF 2023 and will have its U.S. premiere this Friday at SXSW. A24 will release it in theaters this July.
