Pardon my tardiness, but there’s still time to catch some of the Romanian Cultural Institute’s fourth annual film festival in NYC (December 4th-6th). This year the clever title is “4 Years, 3 Days, and 2 Decades Later,” and it features a compact, but presumably sturdy, lineup. Pretty much anything that’s come out of Romania in recent years has run the gamut from awesome to ridiculously awesome, so chances are you’re in for a treat no matter what plunge you decide to take.
In addition to a special screening of the soon-to-be-released Police, Adjective Sunday night at 7pm—followed by a Q&A with acting maestro Vlad Ivanov!—there’s a surprise showing of another well received festival entry from this past year at 4 o’clock (mum’s the word, but you brainiacs should be able to figure it out). That’s all well and good, but I’m more intrigued to see the short film program in order to confirm and deny if every single aspiring filmmaker in Romania is born with master filmmaker blood in their veins.
All screenings are at Tribeca Cinemas. Go here for details, then go see some good movies.
