Champion The Underappreciated!

We have one day left to chime in on Film Comment’s Readers’ Poll. And by doing so you could win some Criterion DVDs. I got this email from the folks over there and pass it on to all of you:

This Friday, February 13, is the deadline for Film Comment’s annual Readers’ Poll. Send along your ranked list of the top 20 movies of 2008, and we’ll tabulate the results in our next issue. We’ll also publish rants and raves on the website, so don’t forget to include your insights on the movies of 2008.

How to submit your poll:

Send your ranked top 20 films and any comments, with your name, address, and phone number to [email protected]. Lists will also be accepted by mail to Film Comment Readers’ Poll, 70 Lincoln Center Plaza, New York, NY 10023, or by fax to 212-875-5636. Deadline: February 13, 2009 (this Friday).

All polls will automatically be entered in the contest for DVD’s from the Criterion Collection.

First Prize: your choice of Criterion Collection DVDs, up to $200 in value. Second Prize: up to $120. Third & Fourth prizes: up to $80. The winners, who will be picked by random draw, can select prizes, subject to availability, from the Criterion Collection catalogue (www.criterionco.com).

I say everyone could just take the Hammer To Nail list of Best Films of 2008 and resubmit that. It’s time that the true indie ruled!
