THE ANIMAL KINGDOM Trailer: Romain Duris and Adèle Exarchopoulos Face A Changing World in Bizarre Thriller

French director Thomas Cailley’s thriller The Animal Kingdom introduces a surreal new world where humans undergo a bewildering change. Romain Duris and breakout star Paul Kircher are a father-son duo trying to keep their family together as the mysterious condition impacts their lives. It had its world premiere at last year’s Cannes Film Festival where it opened the Un Certain Regard section. It has also recently garnered a whopping 12 César Award nominations including Best Film, Best Director for Cailley, and Best Actor for Romain Duris. Magnet Releasing will debut it in the U.S. starting with Rendez-Vous with French Cinema at Film at Lincoln Center on February 29, followed by a March 15 theatrical and digital release.

Here’s the official synopsis:

In THE ANIMAL KINGDOM, a visionary new thriller that drops viewers into an extraordinary world where mutations in human genetics cause people to transform into hybrid creatures, François (Roman Duris) does everything he can to save his wife, who is affected by this mysterious condition. As some of the creatures disappear into a nearby forest, François embarks with Emile (Paul Kircher), their 16-year-old son, on a quest to find her with help from a local police officer (Adèle Exarchopoulos).
