PRIMETIME Trailer: Robert Pattinson Suits Up as Chris Hansen in Thrilling Retelling of ‘To Catch A Predator’
Robert Pattinson continues to be on a roll. With The Drama and The Odyssey already out, and Dune: Part Three coming in December, his newest role as “To Catch a Predator” host Chris Hansen will undoubtedly make waves. Documentary filmmaker Lance Oppenheim (Some Kind of Paradise; Spermworld) makes his narrative feature debut with Primetime, a thrilling retelling of the making of the hit, yet controversial reality TV series. Writer Ajon Singh penned the script. It also stars Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, Anna Faris, Matthew Maher, Bokeem Woodbine, and Phoebe Bridgers. Along with starring as Hansen, Pattinson also produces alongside Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen.
Primetime will have its world premiere in competition at the Venice Film Festival, before A24 releases it in theaters on September 25. The ethical boundaries and complicated legacy of “To Catch a Predator” were explored last year on David Osit’s documentary Predators, which featured testimony from Chris Hansen himself. It will be curious to see how documentarian Oppenheim will approach this history.
