HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS Trailer: A Fur Trapper Goes From Zero to Hero in Award-Winning Slapstick Epic

One impressive, innovative, and outright hilarious film you shouldn’t sleep on this year is Hundreds of Beavers. It is directed by Mike Cheslik by a script he co-wrote with star Ryland Brickson Cole Tews. Shot entirely in black and white with no dialogue, this slapstick comedy has built a cult following in the last year while tearing up the festival circuit – with stops at Fantastic Fest, Sitges, and the Oxford Film Festival where it won Best Narrative Feature. In this 19th-century, supernatural winter epic, a down-on-his-luck applejack salesman is out to become the greatest fur trapper alive by killing Hundreds of Beavers.

It is set to open in North America with its “Great Lakes Roadshow,” (1/26 – 2/10) featuring the filmmakers, cast, and especially beavers in attendance. Talk about winter fun with furry critters! It will open in select theaters beginning February 9 before streaming on Fandor in the spring.

Here’s the official synopsis:

In this supernatural epic action-comedy, a drunken applejack salesman is thrust into the frigid wilderness and has to trap his way out to survive. Will he go from Zero to Hero, become North America’s greatest fur trapper, and defeat HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS? Reuniting the team that brought you LAKE MICHIGAN MONSTER, HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS stars Ryland Brickson Cole Tews as the intrepid hero of this inventive film, co-written by Tews and Mike Cheslik in his directorial debut.
