DALÍLAND Trailer: Ben Kingsley Stars as the Iconic Artist in Mary Harron’s Latest
The later years of Salvador Dalí are explored in the latest from American Psycho director Mary Harron. In Dalíland, Ben Kingsley stars as the legendary, eccentric Spanish painter who is at a point in his life where he is filled with disillusionment and nostalgia while preparing for a new gallery show. The rest of the cast is rounded out by Barbara Sukowa, Christopher Briney, Suki Waterhouse, Andreja Pejic, Rupert Graves, and Ezra Miller as Dalí in his youth shown in flashbacks. The film had its world premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, and is one of the last works of veteran producer Edward R. Pressman (American Psycho, Bad Lieutenant) before his death back in January. Magnolia Pictures will release it in select theaters and on-demand June 9.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mary Harron (I SHOT ANDY WARHOL, AMERICAN PSYCHO), DALÍLAND stars Ben Kingsley as the titular Salvador Dalí, one of the most world-renowned artists of the 20th century and focuses on the later years of the strange and fascinating marriage between Dalí and his wife, Gala (Barbara Sukowa), as their seemingly unshakable bond begins to stress and fracture. Set in New York and Spain in 1974, the film is told through the eyes of James (Christopher Briney), a young assistant keen to make his name in the art world, who helps the eccentric and mercurial Dalí prepare for a big gallery show.
