ROOFTOP FILMS 2023 LINEUP: See the Indie Hits Coming to NYC This Summer

Any New Yorkers have plans this summer? How about chilling under the sun to some of this year’s hot new indie films?

Rooftop Films has just announced its lineup for its 2023 Summer Series, which will take place throughout NYC from May 25 through August 24 with over 45 events featuring new independent feature films, short film programs, and live performances.

Some of the highlights of the series include Savannah Leaf’s A24 tearjerker Earth Mama, Eva Longoria’s crowd-pleasing directorial debut Flamin’ Hot, and Bill Pohland’s Donnie & Joe Emerson biopic Dreamin’ Wild, starring Casey Affleck, Walton Goggins, and Zooey Deschanel.

Other films in the lineup include recent Sundance and SXSW darlings. Among them are D. Smith’s Sundance-winning trans documentary Kokomo City, Charlotte Regan’s Grand Jury Prize winner Scrapper, Sebastian Silva’s jaw-dropping industry satire Rotting In The Sun, Sam Osborn & Alejandra Vasquez’s crowd-pleasing Sundance-winning doc Going Varsity in Mariachi, and Aristotle Torres’ SXSW-winning Story Ave.

Tickets and locations for select upcoming screenings are on sale now via the Rooftop Films website, with additional dates and tickets to be released in the coming weeks. See the full lineup below. Additional titles will be announced soon.
