TEENAGE SEX AND DEATH AT CAMP MIASMA Teaser: Jane Schoenbrun Brings Sex and Blood in Their Tribute to the Slasher Reboot
After their haunting second feature, I Saw The TV Glow, Jane Schoenbrun is back with an eerie new observation on media and the human condition. Mark your calendars this summer for Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma. Set for an August 7 release date by MUBI, it stars Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson as a filmmaker and a reclusive actress, respectively, who fall into a frenzy of psychosexual mania during the making of a slasher reboot. It will also star Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Quintessa Swindell, Kevin McDonald, and Jack Haven.
Schoenbrun wrote and directed the film, with Plan B producing. MUBI will release it in multiple territories, including North America, Latin America, the U.K., Ireland, Germany, Austria, Benelux, Spain, Italy, Turkey, India, Australia, and New Zealand.
As the official synopsis reads:
After years of slapdash sequels and waning fandom, the Camp Miasma slasher franchise is handed over to an enthusiastic young director for resurrection. But when she visits the original movie’s star, a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.
