SORRY, BABY Trailer: Eva Victor’s Healing Directorial Debut Arrives in Late June

Eva Victor's SORRY, BABY

One of the biggest revelations of this year’s Sundance Film Festival is Eva Victor’s Sorry, Baby. Winner of the festival’s Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award, the writer-director stars as an academic reeling from a traumatic event in her life. Told in a nonlinear structure, the film follows her journey to healing with the help of her best friend (Naomi Ackie) and a bond she forms with a kindly neighbor (Lucas Hedges). John Carroll Lynch, Louis Cancelmi, and Kelly McCormack also star.

A24 picked up the film towards the end of Sundance for a whopping $8 million. The film is produced by Barry Jenkins, Adele Romanski, and Mark Ceryak under their PASTEL banner, which also produced Never Rarely Sometimes Always, Aftersun, and All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt. The film will also close this year’s Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, the sidebar that regularly honors boundary-pushing filmmakers. It will also open the Seattle International Film Festival later this May.

Ahead of Sorry, Baby’s June 27 theatrical release, the official trailer has arrived from A24. Check it out below, along with the poster.
