RIDDLE OF FIRE Trailer: Mischievous Kids Battle Wicked Grownups in 16mm Neo-Fairytale
“I’m gonna get you kids!” The classic story of adventurous children getting up to no good gets a 16mm revamp in writer-director Weston Razooli’s Riddle of Fire. Razooli’s directorial debut premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival and closed TIFF’s Midnight Madness section to high praise for its nostalgic elements and 16mm cinematography. In the spirit of The Goonies and Stranger Things, it follows three bored Wyoming children who go on an odyssey where they come across some unsavory adults. The film stars Lio Tipton, Charles Halford, Danielle Hoetmer, Lorelei Olivia Mote, Austin Archer, and Charlie Stover. Yellow Veil Films and boutique Blu-ray label Vinegar Syndrome will release it in early spring next month.
Here’s the official synopsis:
This neo-fairytale set in Wyoming, USA follows three mischievous children as they embark on an odyssey when their mother asks them to run an errand. On the hunt to obtain her favorite blueberry pie, the children are kidnapped by poachers, battle a witch, outwit a huntsman, befriend a fairy, and bond together to become best friends forever.
Riddle of Fire opens in Alamo Drafthouse theaters on Friday, March 22. See the trailer and poster below.
