PARTHENOPE Trailer: Paolo Sorrentino Is Back with a Mythical Ode To Youth & Beauty

Celeste Dalla Porta in Paolo Sorrentino's PARTHENOPE

Oscar-winning director Paolo Sorrentino (The Great Beauty) is back and doing what he does best: making people and places look enchantingly beautiful. Parthenope, titled after the myth of Greek sirens who lured men to their deaths at sea, stars Celeste Dalla Porta in the titular role as a young woman who searches for happiness in 1950s Naples while enchanting those around her with her beauty and grace. It also stars Gary Oldman, Stefania Sandrelli, Silvio Orlando, Luisa Ranieri, Isabella Ferrari, Silvia Degrandi, Lorenzo Gleijeses, Daniele Rienzo, Dario Aita, Marlon Joubert, Alfonso Santagata, Biagio Izzo, and Peppe Lanzetta.

Following the film’s premiere at Canne this year, A24 picked up the North American rights and has set it for a Winter 2025 release.

As the official synopsis reads:

Parthenope, born in the sea of Naples in 1950, searches for happiness over the long summers of her youth, falling in love with her home city and its many memorable characters. From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino comes a monumental and deeply romantic story of a lifetime.

Parthenope arrives in theaters February 7. Watch the trailer below.
