MAXXXINE Trailer: Mia Goth and Ti West Conclude the ‘X’ Trilogy in Hollywood

Mia Goth in Ti West's MaXXXine

“You’re a f***ing movie star.”

Mia Goth’s Maxine is back to fulfill her dreams of fame in the seedy underbelly of 1980s Hollywood. Writer-director Ti West’s MaXXXine is set to conclude his X slasher trilogy following 2022’s X and Pearl, all of which starred Goth. While the wait for this third chapter was a little longer, A24 has now released the first trailer ahead of its 4th of July weekend release that features a little blood and Bates Motel. The knockout cast includes Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon.

The film follows Maxine Minx, a decade after surviving the massacre in X, who finds herself in the City of Angels more willing than ever to reach her dreams of fame on the big screen. Meanwhile, a serial killer roams the starry streets while a trail of blood leads right to Maxine’s past. Given how Maxine’s thirst for stardom contrasts with Pearl’s obsession with fame (as seen in Pearl), it will gripping to see how this journey reaches its end. Also returning for the final chapter are cinematographer Eliot Rockett and composer Tyler Bates.
