ANATOMY OF A FALL Trailer: Sandra Hüller Stars In Justine Triet’s Palme d’Or-Winning Murder Mystery
For the fourth time in a row this year, NEON hit the jackpot once again when the murder mystery they acquired, Anatomy of a Fall, won the prestigious Palme d’Or at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. Justine Triet (Sibyl) directed with a script co-written by her and Arthur Harari. She is the third woman to be awarded the Palme at Cannes after Jane Campion for The Piano, and more recently Julia Ducournau for Titane. Sandra Hüller, who also starred in Triet’s Sibyl commands the screen as a recent widow who finds herself on trial for her late husband’s presumed murder, impacting both her and her blind son’s lives. The film is already making big waves this festival season as it will screen at both TIFF and NYFF before its theatrical release later in the fall. NEON has just released the official trailer for the highly anticipated mystery drama.
Here’s the official synopsis:
For the past year, Sandra, her husband Samuel, and their eleven-year-old son Daniel have lived a secluded life in a remote town in the French Alps. When Samuel is found dead in the snow below their chalet, the police question whether he was murdered or committed suicide. Samuel’s suspicious death is presumed murder, and Sandra becomes the main suspect. What follows is not just an investigation into the circumstances of Samuel’s death but an unsettling psychological journey into the depths of Sandra and Samuel’s conflicted relationship.
