Berlinale 2024 Lineup Includes New Films From Olivier Assayas, Mati Diop, Hong Sangsoo, Bruno Dumont, and More

The Berlin International Film Festival has unveiled a very exciting lineup for its 2024 edition in the International Competition and Encounters sections.

Many of these films come with star power, such as A24’s A Different Man with Sebastian Stan, Alonso Ruizpalacios’ La Cocina with Rooney Mara, Piero Messina’s Another End with Gael García Bernal and Renate Reinsve, and the newest Claire Keegan adaptation Small Things Like These starring “Oppenheimer” sensation Cillian Murphy – which is set to open the festival.

Other films to be excited about are Olivier Assayas’ rom-com Suspended Time, Architection from “Gunda” director Victor Kossakovsky, Mati Diop with her documentary Dahomey, Hong Sangsoo’s A Traveler’s Needs with Isabelle Huppert, Sons from “The Guilty” director Gustav Möller, and “Goodnight Mommy” duo Veronika Franz & Severin Fiala with their newest nightmare The Devil’s Bath.

Recent Sundance sensation Love Lies Bleeding from Rose Glass will also make its international premiere in the festival’s Specials program. Another big title premiering in the same section is David Hinton’s documentary Made in England: The Films of Powell and Pressburger about influential British filmmakers Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger narrated by lifelong enthusiast Martin Scorsese. It features rare archival material from the personal collections of Powell, Pressburger, and Scorsese.

The Berlin Film Festival takes place February 15-25. See the full lineup below:
