THE THINGS YOU KILL Trailer: Canada’s Oscar Entry is a Psychological Tale of Revenge

One of the most gripping, chilling films that shook the Sundance Film Festival was writer-director Alireza Khatami’s The Things You Kill. Winner of the World Cinema Dramatic Directing Award at the festival, it is a unique psychological thriller that explores how family trauma can push and change a person. It stars Ekin Koç as a university professor in Turkey whose mother unexpectedly passes, leading him to a heated confrontation with his estranged father and enlisting the help of a questionable gardener. It also stars Erkan Kolçak Köstendil, Hazar Ergüçlü, Ercan Kesal, Serhat Nalbantoğlu, Aysan Sümercan, and Selen Kurtaran.
This third feature from Khatami (Oblivion Verses; Terrestrial Verses) has been selected by Canada as its official submission for Best International Feature at the 98th Academy Awards. Cineverse has now released the official U.S. trailer ahead of its November 14th theatrical release, before streaming on Fandor later on.
As the official synopsis reads:
