QUEENS OF THE DEAD Trailer: A Drag Party Turns Deadly in Tina Romero’s Bloody & Hilarious Tribeca Winner

A horror legend’s zombie legacy continues this Halloween season. Tina Romero, the daughter of legendary director George A. Romero, is making her mark with her feature directorial debut, Queens of the Dead. It had its world premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, where it won the Narrative Audience Award. This glittery, flashy, and gory comedy follows a drag show in Brooklyn, whose queens and guests must band together to fight off a bloodthirsty zombie invasion. Romero co-wrote the film with Erin Judge. It stars the flashy ensemble of Katy O’Brian, Jaquel Spivey, Tomas Matos, Nina West, Quincy Dunn-Baker, Jack Haven, Cheyenne Jackson, Dominique Jackson, Margaret Cho, Riki Lindhome, Eve Lindley, Becca Blackwell, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Julie J.
In the days leading up to its release in theaters on October 24, it will also screen at LA’s Beyond Fest, The Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, and NewFest. The official trailer has now arrived courtesy of IFC and Shudder.
Here’s the official synopsis:
A zombie apocalypse breaks out in Brooklyn on the night of a giant warehouse party, where an eclectic group of drag queens, club kids, and frenemies must put aside their drama and use their unique skills to fight against the brain-thirsty, scrolling undead.
