DEAD LOVER Trailer: Grace Glowicki’s Midnight Sensation Arrives in March
After a huge festival run last year that included Sundance, SXSW, and TIFF, cult Canadian actress and filmmaker Grace Glowicki’s Frankensteinian comedy Dead Lover is set to arrive in theaters stateside this spring. Glowicki, known for her roles in Strawberry Mansion and Honey Bunch, stars and directs from a script she co-wrote with fellow actor Ben Petrie (BlackBerry). She stars as a gravedigger who goes to mad lengths to bring her dream man (Petrie) back to life. It also stars Lowen Morrow and Leah Doz.
The 16mm-shot film is set to arrive in theaters on March 20 from new distributor Cartuna x DWECK. Beforehand, it will screen in “Stink-O-Vision” at Nitehawk Cinema at Prospect Park & Williamsburg in Brooklyn on February 9, and at IFC Center in New York City on March 19.
As the official synopsis reads:
A lonely Gravedigger who stinks of corpses finally meets her dream man, but their whirlwind affair is cut short when he tragically drowns at sea. Grief-stricken, she goes to morbid lengths to resurrect him through madcap scientific experiments, resulting in grave consequences and unlikely love.
