VENICE FILM FESTIVAL 2025 LINEUP: New Titles From Jim Jarmusch, Park Chan-Wook, Kathryn Bigelow, and More
The Venice Film Festival is heading back to the Lido for its 82nd edition. Taking place August 27 – September 6, the in-competition lineup features exciting new titles from an array of auteurs, including Park Chan-wook, Jim Jarmusch, Noah Baumbach, Paolo Sorrentino, Kathryn Bigelow, Guillermo Del Toro, Olivier Assayas, Yorgos Lanthimos, Mona Fastvold, László Nemes, Benny Safdie, Kaouther Ben Hania, Gianfranco Rosi, Ildikó Enyedi and more.
The out-of-competition sections feature new films from Sofia Coppola, Luca Guadagnino, Gus Van Sant, Werner Herzog, Julian Schnabel, Laura Poitras, Tsai Ming-liang, Lucrecia Martel, Anders Thomas Jensen, Aleksandr Sokurov, and Charlie Kaufman (with a new short film).
Alexander Payne heads the competition jury, which also includes Brazilian actress and recent Oscar nominee Fernanda Torres, Chinese actress Zhao Tao, Italian filmmaker Maura Delpero (who won the Grand Jury Prize at last year’s Venice for Vermiglio), French filmmaker Stéphane Brizé, Romanian filmmaker Christian Mungiu, and Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof.
