Watch Jim Cummings’ Hilarious New Short Film IS NOW A GOOD TIME?

Jim Cummings in IS NOW A GOOD TIME?

Never count out Jim Cummings. The multi-hyphenate talent who broke out in 2016 with his SXSW winner Thunder Road knows how to make a film hilarious, gripping, and emotional in so many unexpected ways. After following up his feature debut with The Wold of Snow Hollow and The Beta Test, we’re all waiting eagerly for his next feature film. But in the meantime, he has returned to his short film roots with his newest project, Is Now A Good Time?

Premiering at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival and funded through a Seed & Spark campaign, Cummings writes, directs, and stars as a Disney/Marvel employee who is tasked with fulfilling a terminally ill child’s dying wish of seeing “Captain America 4.” As to be expected from Cummings, what seems to be sweet and simple on the surface soon turns awkward and then eventually darker, culminating in a deep commentary on the corporatization of arts and entertainment. Leticia Castillo, Daniel Sanchez, Christine Avila, Daniel Liu, and producer Dustin Hahn also star.
