I want to thank you for your kind review because you chose to see and point out the heart shown in this documentary.
Who am I? I’m K. B. Tidwell, a lifelong resident of Jasper, Alabama, and visitor to the Jasper Mall since it opened when I was 12 years old. In fact, you posted your review three days after my 50th birthday (yes, I have started receiving AARP solicitations, thank you for asking), and this mall has been a part of my life since the time my life really got socially interesting.
Though I’m NOT one of the guys playing dominoes there, and I’m NOT one of the folks with an old car in the monthly car show that Mike mentioned possibly starting up (it did, of course), I AM a person who has watched the mall be born, live a robust, prosperous life, and now lie gasping on life support. Its existence touched a lot of lives, and it truly is a shame to see Mike’s personal angst. To not be a native of Jasper, I’m proud to know of him though I’ve never met him.
Thanks again for your kindness. There are some mundane things in life that really shouldn’t be swept under the rug.
