Jon2339 – What do you mean by “THESE FILMS”? I don’t think my review for this one in particular was in any way promoting it or saying it’s great. Compare it to my review of something like WINTER’S BONE or TREELESS MOUNTAIN and you should be able to notice the difference (or are they what you mean by “THESE FILMS”? how about the Sean Baker films I mentioned?). Normally when I’m not all-the-way jazzed about a movie I don’t write about it, but in this case, WAH DO DEM left me with lots of questions that I think are worth considering in the context of the indie film discussion–it actually addresses what you’re so mad about in many ways, I think.

The indie world is dead and we wonder why… STOP PROMOTING THESE FILMS… they are TERRIBLY ACTED, HORRIBLY WRITTEN, SELF-REFLEXIVELY NAUSEATING IN THE WORST WAY, AND EVERYONE SAYING SOMETHING IS GREAT JUST BECAUSE IT IS UNDISCOVERED/INDIE/LOW BUDGET, ETC. IS NOT HELPING THE CAUSE… for chrissakes, is this really the best out there? If so, that is really sad.
