The hippie dippy stuff doesn’t age too well for me, and IMO The Born Losers is the superior film of the series. Jeremy Slate, man, that guy’s fun to watch. Zero hippie dippy stuff, just action, and Elizabeth James, wow.

Like you said, its a personal movie, and he did the best he could with what he had. Almost a “home movie production” with friends and family as the cast.
