Inglorious basterds is not a revenge flick, it’s a complex war movie. In fact the main villain, lt. Landa is never killed only scared at the end. So in what way is it a revenge flick when the ones doing the revenge actually lose at the end and the villain wins? The ones doing the revenge are not portrayed any better than the villains? Tarantino is still making movies with a message but you have to look, and even when he doesn’t he has so much style that the truth comes unwillingly to screen in some scenes.
