I would have liked to have heard from the actress (Meiko Kaji) and how she feels about the impact of this film and the homages, Princess Blade and the Kill Bill series.

Is she even aware of the cultural impact the Snowblood films made, or are they too cultish?

It’s just sort of frustrating to see extras on home video taking a backseat even more so than physical film releases are.
There are far too many DVDs and Blu rays released now that don’t have even the original trailers as bare-minimum extras on them!

I’ve bought this series on the AnimEigo DVDs and the Criterion Blu ray that was reviewed…
It’s one of the more interesting Japanese film series I’ve seen that’s for sure! It’s not Kurosawa or Godzilla and that’s usually about the extent of most people’s Japanese film knowledge unless they’re into J-horror films or anime…
