Apologies for not having posted this yesterday, but Toronto got in the way. But there’s still time, so here we go:
This weekend, one of the year’s most delightful truly independent American comedies makes its theatrical bow in Los Angeles and Orange County. After pleasing audiences at festivals everywhere, Dave Boyle’s White on Rice tries to topple the precarious beast that is the “independent theatrical release.” These days, every independent film needs your help, but something like White on Rice needs it even more badly. If you’re reading this site, you care. So prove it.
Be sure to check out my HTN review, as well as Nelson Kim’s HTN conversation with Boyle, if you haven’t already, before visiting the official White on Rice website, where you can watch a trailer and find out specific screening information.
If you’re anywhere near Los Angeles or Orange County this weekend, find the time to see White on Rice. Not only will you be supporting a worthwhile cause, you’ll be walking around with a grin on your face for the rest of the day.
